2005-01-17 [bluesoulsearcher]: I know this is a really late comment, but since the subject came up a couple of comment pages back, I feel the need to say this about the Red Cross. First off, I think the Red Cross does some excellent work around the globe. However, that's no excuse for some of their activities (unethical, not terrorism). The Red Cross diverts a significant fraction of donations to executive salaries. The eexecutives are highly compensated on the par with corporate execs. And then there's this sad story. My best friend's father was in Vietnam. He didn't actually do any fighting (because he was a drafted hippie who found ways to almost the entire tour in the brig)...
