There she is. That strange young girl.
Warped by the insanity of this world.
She walks alone, her head ducked low.
Her heart beating faintly, with no where to go.
A tear drop rolls down her pale drawn face.
The crystanline jewel leaving a very small trace.
No sound escapes as she brushes it off.

She raises her eyes and looks at me.
The depths of those black holes went on for eternity.
I watched in amazement when she uttered one simple word.
"Help." was what I heard.
Then she turned and walked away.
Leaving me to wonder to this day,
What she meant by that simple word.

Today I read the paper.
Searching for anything new.
As my eyes scan the page, that's when I see you.
Your picture is black and white,
but the pain is evident there.
Below your picture is a story, too sad for me to read.
It resonates with what you meant when you told me that simple word.
Now I read the letters, blaring at me with bold grace.
And I slowly close my eyes as tears stream down my face.
